This game changed my life... Oh why did I ever find this monster? Why did it have to be me? Who had done this to this poor creature? Aku... Even the name sent shivers down my spine. I hope no one makes the same mistake that I made, I hope this game will be lost forever in total darkness! I wish this game, and Aku, who still haunts my dreams, would just disappear from this world and be gone, forever.
I sighed. There was nothing to do, again. I lay on my bed, looking up at the empty ceiling. What was there to do? I thought for a moment then a thought drifted into my head. Go for a walk, but why? I shrugged; something was telling me that it would be fun, but how? I sat up and got off my bed. I quickly put my shoes on and sneaked out the house. Why did I sneak out the house? No idea. I began to simply walk down the street, and then turned my gaze to the field. I went there to walk my dog almost everyday but I had never explored it before. Adventurous thoughts flooded into my mind and I picked up speed and fled to the field. It was calm here and no one was around (which was surprising). With in moments I found my self in the field leading to the high school. I had taken this route before whilst walking my dog but had never looked at it properly before. It was huge, the farmer's crops were covering it all and the school lay in the background, drowned in a misty fog. I put my hands in my pockets; it was pretty cold early in the morning. I should be asleep, it wasn't even 7 yet. Why the heck did I decide to come here? I yawned tiredly and was just about to turn and run back to the warmth of my bed when something stopped me in my tracks. Was it just me or was there another route leading to somewhere else out here? I stopped and concentrated, scanning the area with my curious blue eyes. Yes, I was right! There was a secret route right in the corner of the field!
"Oh, great," I muttered to myself, knowing that I'll have to walk all the way over there. Shrugging, I set off on my little adventure.
It must have taken at least 20 minutes to get there but I had finally arrived. I tilted my head in curiosity, a small narrow path led down to a mysterious foggy place. I couldn't tell how long it went on for so I cautiously slipped my foot down it. Wait, this wasn't a tunnel or even a secret place, this was just a hole in the ground! I let the rage take control of me as I cursed myself a few times but then suddenly stopped. Hang on a second, when I had placed my foot there, it didn't seem very empty. I spun around and peered into the hole. Something square, grey and dusty lay there. I picked it up and stood up, blowing the dust of it.
"Just a square piece of plastic..." I sighed to myself.
I thought for a moment and placed the object in my other hand, turning it over. Hey, wait a minute, this wasn't just any old piece of plastic, but was a game! I just made out the title on it, Pokémon.
"A Pokémon game," I cried out in eagerness. "I love these things!" Without even thinking, I sprinted off and out of the field that stood abandoned and alone, that lay in front of a mysterious and unknown school.
I couldn't stop running, the only thing on my mind was to sneak back in and play on this lost and amazing game. My shoes thundered down the street as I sped off to my house. I silently opened my front door and let out a sigh of relief. My mom was still asleep and my dog was so deep in her sleep that she didn't even bark when I entered the house. Panting hard, I crept back into my room, making sure to shut and lock the door behind me. I threw myself at my bed and lay there for a few moments, but then remembered the game and grabbed my DS and yanked it out of its case. I took my Pokémon Black out of the game cartridge and replaced it with the mysterious Pokémon game. I turned the DS on and found out the game was Pokémon Heart Gold. I watched as the scenes played and the HO-OH flew in the morning sky. Whoever had this game before, had a play time of over 100 hours and was called Kasuki. I clicked on their data and the screen went black. I got a sudden shock as two glowing dark red eyes stared at me. I held my breath and stared back at them. A text bar came up;
"..."
It read. Shaking, I slowly pressed the A button.
"...You're not Kasuki."
I froze, how could this creature know this? I closed my eyes and took a few moments to remind myself that this was just a game and it was probably hacked or something. But those thoughts drifted away from me as I reopened my eyes and read the words displayed clear in front of me.
"Kate... Why? Why did you bring me back? Oh well, I guess I should be thanking you... SHOULDN'T I?!"
The last two words came as a loud and deafening shriek and the screen shook. I dropped the DS in shock and fright, making it hit the ground hard and shut. I sat there, eyes wide and staring down at the DS. The green light flashed. It was still on! Silence filled the house for a long time. I was too scared to pick the DS back up and open it to find more frightening things. I placed my hand on my heart and listened to it thump rapidly, then slow down as I tried to convince myself that this was still a hack. I took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. I then picked up the DS and slowly open it up. I was surprised and also a little disappointed on what the screen showed. I was in the game. A female trainer sprite stood in a black room. I walked around a bit but nothing changed, what was I supposed to do here? I walked some more then found an exit, a cave like hole in the wall stood before me, a bright white light blazing from it. I was just about to exit this empty room when my heart almost stopped at what appeared. A sudden flash of a figure which stood in front of the door way flashed on the screen, its red eyes almost peering into my very soul. It kept doing that, fading then fading back. I gulped and made my trainer walk closer to the door, as I did so, the figure started appearing and flashing more until I couldn't take the creepiness anymore and ran out of the room. The screen flashed then nothing...
I was in a graveyard, standing in front of a grave stone. The trees quietly moved in the darkness, it was very dark and hard to see but the moon gave me enough light to make out my trainer and the graveyard.
"That poor Yoi... She never saw it coming..."
A text bar displayed this horrifying message.
"Wait, who's Yoi?" I questioned the DS. I was shocked to see an answer fade onto my screen.
"Yoi... She was just an Umbreon and an Espeon... Like me."
My trainer turned as an Espeon entered the screen. I watched as the Espeon turned and faced the other way, showing me it's other side... An Umbreon...
"You see, trainer, Yoi was perfect, she was beautiful. Kasuki loved her dearly, but I wouldn't allow that." The Umreon-Espeon monster turned back and faced my trainer once more.
"But you wouldn't care, you wouldn't understand me... Aku..."
"No, I do understand," I whispered back, trying to not get on this Pokémon's bad side.
"Don't lie to me, Kate. I know you really don't... You know nothing about us and you never will..." Aku then suddenly turned, as if it was facing me, then, it pounced at the screen. The screen faded and I was sent back to the start menu. I stared at it for a long time, unable to make any movement what so ever. What I had just seen there wasn't natural... The DS slipped out of my hands as I lost grip. My vision began to fade and soon I was forced into sleep.
I still have this game, but I keep it hidden away. I can't trash it, I can't get rid of it. No one should suffer the same fate I did. Now the game just lies in its box and collects dust, but I know that Aku is still there... That he's still waiting for me to place him back into my DS. But that will never happen, never again...
